SUMMARY
The Behavior Analyst is responsible for managing a caseload of individuals being served by the Applied Behavior Analysis Services Department for Life Unlimited. Applied Behavior Analysis uses the scientific principles of behavior to promote positive and socially significant behavior change in humans, specifically those served by Life Unlimited. The ABA Services Department will collaborate with staff and other professionals in the agency to ensure best practice and consistency for individuals being served. The person in this position reports to the Director of ABA Services.
BASIC FUNCTIONS AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a caseload of 10-15 individuals as assigned by the Director of ABA Services
- Conduct functional behavior assessments in accordance with best practice in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis, which may include (but is not limited to) conducting functional analyses, conducting reinforcer assessments, conducting preference assessments, conducting skills assessments, collecting descriptive data, and interviewing caregivers.
- Complete functional behavior assessments within 60 days of conducting the initial team interview, unless an extension of 30 days is requested, and approved, by the Director of ABA Services
- Develop, implement, and train caregivers to implement behavior support plans based on behavioral function and taking into consideration contextual fit
- Create data collection instruments, graph collected data, and critically analyze graphed data to make treatment decisions
- Modify behavior support plans based ongoing assessment of collected data, as needed
- Report progress for each individual served within monthly summary documentation due by the 15th day of each month
- Maintain minimum billing units of at least 415 cumulative units a month with an expected range of 415-440 each month, or as otherwise determined by the Director of ABA Services based on specific billable targets tailored to each caseload. Minimum billing units will be reviewed monthly by the Director of ABA Services and CPO.
- Maintain self-monitoring of units billed in a spreadsheet that is updated and uploaded to the ABA Services shared page by the last working day of each week
- Conduct observations with each person on caseload as dictated by their service plan, authorized units, and current needs of the person and/or their team
- Be available and responsive to needs of caseload and their teams, including responding to all email correspondence, meeting requests, and phone calls within 24 business hours
- Keep abreast of current trends in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and utilize that research to improve service delivery to consumers being served by Life Unlimited
- Maintain certification and all continuing education requirements as determined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
- Provide supervision to ABA Specialists employed with Life Unlimited, if applicable, as assigned by the Director of ABA Services
- Other activities related to the dissemination of behavior analysis, including (but not limited to) attending plan meetings, attending staff trainings, and attending house meetings of individuals receiving active services
- Maintain license requirements as determined by the Missouri Behavior Analyst Advisory Board

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with The Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB)
- Must be a licensed behavior analyst in the state of Missouri and keep licensure current at all times; if licensed in another state, applicant must obtain Missouri license within thirty (30) days of hire
- Minimum of two years experience working with adults with IDD, with experience working in a residential or community-based service delivery model preferred
- Experience implementing functional behavior assessment, creating behavior support plans, and training caregivers
- Ability to interpret data and develop reports and correspondence
- Strong working knowledge of behavior analytic assessment, data analysis, program design, and treatment implementation
- Ability to engage in abstract reasoning and problem solving
- Understanding of regulatory guidelines and all accreditation standards for: DMH, CARF, TCMs, and others as needed
- Ability to meet deadlines, manage time effectively, and maximize efficiency
- Must obtain a Class E driver’s license during new hire orientation– must carry minimum coverage applicable by law for auto insurance
- Must Receive Seasonal Flu Vaccination
Physical Expectations
This position may require extended periods of walking and/or standing with some periods of sitting. It may require light (5 lbs.) to heavy lifting (50 lbs.) and occasional stooping, kneeling, and/or bending.
Working Conditions
The employee may be exposed to office/home environment with noises from appliances, telephones, and other occupational noises depending upon the job placement. The employee may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and/or infectious diseases.
