Direct Support Professional- Weekend Shifts

Department: COMMUNITY LIVING
Location: North Kansas City, MO

Training will be at $18.00 per hour- Once training is complete Weekend shifts will be compensated at $21.00 per hour

**Job Summary:**

A Direct Support Professional on the Weekend Shift provides essential support in various aspects of daily living, including personal care assistance, community integration, skill development, and ensuring personal safety. This role focuses on delivering person-centered services that adhere to best practice standards.

**Responsibilities:**

- Provide individualized services aligned with each Individual Support Plan (ISP) and Behavioral Support Plans (BSP).
- Offer personalized activities to support individual growth, self-esteem, and community involvement.
- Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations, including accurate and timely documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of client records and follow financial policies and procedures.
- Uphold health and safety guidelines, assisting individuals with personal care, medical appointments, and medication administration.
- Create a safe and comfortable living environment, including shopping for supplies, handling laundry/trash, and organizing activities.
- Prepare for absences by assisting with arrangements for family visits and vacations.

**Organizational Responsibilities:**

- Advocate for the rights, dignity, and capabilities of individuals while reporting any violations promptly.
- Comply with company policies, maintain certifications (e.g., CPR, FA), and find coverage for shifts if unable to work.
- Communicate professionally, accept feedback, and participate in team meetings as required.

**Qualifications:**

- Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Effective communication skills in English (written and oral).
- Clear record of no disqualifying felonies or substantiated abuse/neglect.
- Reliable transportation for transporting individuals.
- Commitment to safe practices, professional standards, and obtaining a Class E driver’s license.
- Required to receive seasonal flu vaccination.
